Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994 after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995.

Since embarking operation, the Bank has registered remarkable growth. Notwithstanding global and domestic challenges, Awash Bank has exhibited a superior operational and financial performances among private banks operating in Ethiopia. Awash Bank Job Vacancy Announcement:


Position 1: Principal – Public Relations and CSR Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Marketing Management, Business Management, Journalism & Communication, Language and Literature or Economics plus a minimum of eight (8) years related experience. Masters in a Business related field (added advantage)

The job holder is responsible to handle the public relations and corporate social responsibility activities of the Bank. S/he studies and carries out public relation tasks to improve public awareness and understanding about the Bank. Upon approval from the supervisor, prepares and releases various newsworthy information regarding the Bank.

Position 2: Senior – Risk Management Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Financial Economics, Risk management and Economics or BSc in Statistics with a minimum of 5 (Five) years relevant experience in financial risk modeling and management.

Position 3: Senior – Public Relations and CSR Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Marketing Management, Business Management, Journalism & Communication, Language and Literature or Economics plus a minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience.

Position 4: Senior – Branding and Promotion Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Marketing Management, Business Management or Economics plus a minimum of six (6) years relevant experience.

Position 5: Principal – Branding and Promotion Officer

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Marketing Management, Business Management, Journalism & Communication, Language and Literature or Economics plus a minimum of eight (8) years relevant experience. Masters in Business related field (added advantage).

The jobholder is responsible to study and carry out promotion and branding tasks to improve public awareness and understanding of the Bank. She/he undertakes studies and carries out branding and promotion tasks to improve public awareness and understanding of the bank. She/he builds a corporate image to maintain a reputation of quality.

Position 6: Director – Planning & Business Intelligence Directorate

Qualification & Experience: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management or Economics plus a minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience, with at least three (3) years in managerial position working on planning, monitoring & business intelligence related areas in a financial institution.

The job holder is responsible for the Bank’s planning, monitoring and business intelligence activities. S/he ensures completion of the planning process on time, monitors and evaluates the plan implementation against set targets and recommends measures to keep the plan execution process on track. S/he directs business intelligence and analytics activities at the Bank.
