Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994 after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995.

Since embarking operation, the Bank has registered remarkable growth. Notwithstanding global and domestic challenges, Awash Bank has exhibited a superior operational and financial performances among private banks operating in Ethiopia. Awash Bank Job Vacancy Announcement:


Position 1: Senior – Data Analytics And Business Intelligence Developer

Qualification & Experience:  BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, information Systems or related field plus a minimum of six (6) years of experience in IT and banking areas.

Professional Certificates in IT areas (an added advantage).

The jobholder is responsible for managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank’s analytics and information management systems. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring that the Bank’s decision-making processes are based on reliable data insights and that data is effectively collected, stored, analyzed, and reported.

The job holder is responsible for advanced technical skills in the design, development, control and use of business data.

Position 2: Software Engineer II

Qualification & Experience:  BSc Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering & Information Technology. Professional course in IT (added advantage) plus a minimum of four (4) years of Software Development experience.

The jobholder is responsible for supporting the System Development and Integration activities. S/he is responsible for supporting the requirement gathering, developing / customizing, testing, bug fixing and installation of new or modified applications. In addition, s/he is responsible for ensuring integration of new or modified systems/applications with existing systems/applications of the Bank

Position 3: Branch Manager – Class II Branch

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Management & Business Administration plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the banking sector of which three (3) years in a supervisory position

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. S/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports

Position 4: Branch Manager – Class IV Branch

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance and Economics plus minimum of eight (8) years of relevant banking experience of which three (3) years in a supervisory position.

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. S/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports

Position 5: Branch Manager – Class III Branch

Qualification & Experience: BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics or related discipline plus minimum of nine (9) years of relevant banking experience of which three (3) years in a supervisory position

The job holder is responsible to plan, organize, lead, and control the banking activities of a branch office. S/he ensures that operating procedures, rules, regulations and code of practices of the bank are adhered to by subordinates. The jobholder leads the branch sales and customer service initiatives and guides branch operational excellence. S/he prepares and submits annual budget, operational plan and activity and progress reports. The jobholder participates in various community activities and keeps in close touch with the business community to promote services offered by the Bank
