Role purpose: 


. The position holder will be responsible for the below:


·         The Data Centre & Campus Networks, The LAN, WLAN and WAN projects/solutions, Inter/Intra Telco and IT Data center connectivity.


·         Inter Office voice and video Communications, Office Automation, Customer Care and Retail Shops connectivity to centralized resources. 


·         Corporate Internet Edge and DMZ Connectivity, Firewall and Access Control, Load balancing Cloud Systems and delivery of customer solutions, along with corresponding documentation, and provision and development of the technical design for support. 


·         Monitoring of the entire Data Center and Campus Network Environment


·         This is a 24/7 role, and the position holder will be required to be reachable/on standby at any time of day or night working on shift basis.





Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 



·         Implementation, optimization, and end-to- end support of Datacenter & Campus Network


·         Compilation of Datacenter & Campus Networks topologies, network diagrams, schematics, and floor layout plans  


·         Plan and oversee resources to conduct surveys and implementation plans that ensures timely implementation as per the project timelines.


·         Implementation, and support of Datacenter Network infrastructure security tools to enforce security policies. 


·         Budget estimation to meet business requirements OPEX budget justifications.


·         Review of BOQs against the designs for the Datacenter and Campus Networks solutions 


·         Monitoring capacity threshold to ensure proactive upgrades are done to meet   growing needs.  

  • Monitor 24x7 controlled environments (alerts, thresholds, trend analysis)
  • Review/evaluate incoming alerts and perform system health checks.

·         Provision of hardware break/fix support/replacements in the Data Center and Campus Network


·         Provision of timely reporting of the network environment status as scheduled.


·         Implementation of solutions to ensure rollout follows the design and meets both the business and engineering specifications. 


·         Definition of network KPIs, SLAs and acceptance procedures for new services


·         Ensuring (overall ownership) of accurate, up-to date documentation on Datacenter and Campus Networks 

  • Adhere to the existing processes in workflow management and maintain technical and operational procedures and work instructions.

·         Scheduled periodical audit function of on-ground data against agreed design. 


·         Process review and recommendation on process improvement 


·         Learn/research on new technologies/practices in the Datacenter and Campus Networks domain. 


·         Evaluate reliability and cost effectiveness of trials introduced in the network and their ability to keep up with emerging technologies. 


·         Running of trials/POCs and subsequent recommendations for approval 

  • Task scheduling and objective settings for self

·         Making critical optimization decisions

  • Ticket, qualify and manage Incidents through the existing ticket portal.
  • Provide RCA for problems and incidents related to the network.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and implement change requests through change control process within the Service Management Ticket Portal
  • Perform system changes to resolve Incidents.
  • Monitoring and managing ticket queue and technical assignments and completion
  • Provide recommendations for changes to standard configurations.
  • Be available/on standby 24/7 to resolve any Data Center and Campus network issues/escalations including after-business hours and weekends.

Must have technical / professional qualifications: 


·         Degree in Information Systems and Technology, Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, IT Computer Science or a closely related course.


·         Above 3 years’ experience in a busy I.T or Telecommunications environment –Involved in strategy modeling, planning, design, implementation, optimization and support of Datacenter and Campus Networks environment.


·         In-depth understanding of Arista and Cisco networks environments is an added advantage.


·         Router, Switches and NG firewall configuration and troubleshooting skills (Cisco, FortiGate, Checkpoint and Huawei)


·         Load balancer configuration and troubleshooting skills (F5, Radware and Citrix)


·         Mastery of IPsec Configuration and Troubleshooting Skills


·         Network design and implementation experience, including working knowledge of IP addressing, TCP/IP Protocols, LAN, and WAN configurations.


·         Knowledge in telephony systems for Voice and Video Communications.


·         CCNA or HCNA Network Certifications in any line (RS, Security, Wireless, Voice) is desirable.
