Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Information Management Assistant (LAN).

The work schedule for this position is: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

  • This position is directly supervised by the Information Technology Systems Manager. This is 1 of 4 tier 1 technical support positions at the Information Resource Management (IRM) Help Desk serving as the administrative and technical manager of post’s mobile programs. Facilitates in-person and email requests by providing tier-1 helpdesk support and technical direction to customers. Oversees all IRM my Services requests, including the creation and tracking of requests, providing daily ticket request status reports to IRM, as well as following up on requests to ensure timely action is being taken. Provides IRM-related check-in and check-out assistance to the Mission’s new arrivals and departees.
  • When serving as the mobile program’s administrative and technical manager maintains inventory, configures, and issues all mobile devices including iPads, iPhones, SAMSUNG, SPYRUS, all kinds of laptops, and any other mobile devices. Serves as point of contact for all mobile-related questions and advises on areas of improvement and growth for the post’s mobile program. The position has no supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications and Evaluations

  • EXPERIENCE:- Minimum of three years of customer service experience of which a minimum of two years of responsible experience in complex PC, Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) environments is required.

  • Education:- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology is required.
Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:-

  • Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. (This may be tested)
  • Level 3 (Good Working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing Amharic is required. (This may be tested)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- 

  • Pre-hire: Be able to maintain all LAN components, including operating systems, applications and utility software, cabling, and hardware such as network switches, PCs, printers, scanners, digital senders, card readers, hard disks, various interface cards, etc. The ability to lift moderately heavy equipment is required.
Note: Assessment Exam may be administered before the interview.
