PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing heath challenges.

The Partnership for Vivax Elimination (PAVE) is a Unitaid, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and FCDO funded multi-year initiative led by PATH and Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) to support countries in the control and elimination of Plasmodium vivax (P. vivax) malaria. The goal of PAVE is to support the adoption and increased access to a suite of products to address the unique challenges associated with P. vivax malaria globally. Through PAVE, PATH and MMV work closely with the World Health Organization, National Malaria Programs (NMPs), and country-based healthcare partners to support the introduction and use of these effective tools, which include malaria diagnostics, G6PD diagnostics, blood-stage drugs, and liver-stage radical-cure drugs. Guided by the leadership of national health agencies, PAVE provides support in terms of market analytics, technical expertise, and product delivery coordination as countries seek to introduce effective radical cure into national malaria protocols and accelerate progress towards their malaria elimination goals.

PATH is seeking a Policy Advisor Officer to lead PATH PAVE activities in Ethiopia. • Coordinate partners and NMEP to consolidate national evidence base to generate policy brief and for policy review by identifying national policy options and delivery models for introduction and scale-up, development of national investment case, development of national introduction & scale up strategy and lead validation workshops to ensure optimized radical cure adoption.

  • Provide technical assistance to NMPs and MOHs to ensure appropriate engagement on implementation of cost-effectiveness and feasibility study and to translate evidence from outputs, and support optimizing pharmacovigilance systems and supply chain to enable the roll-out of radical cure tools.
