ABOUT YOU

Job Requirements:
THE OPPORTUNITY

The ARISE Program Lead will be accountable for overall Program Management, Leadership and Coordination of the ARISE Initiatives with the Ministry of Health Ethiopia. Responsible for developing plans systems and processes aligned with ARISE objectives, directives, priorities, and guidance of the End Fund. Additionally, the role will be engaged in coordination and supervision of ARISE partners and responsible in building the capacity of relevant bodies to facilitate program implementation.  The incumbent is responsible for managing ARISE initiatives in Ethiopia.

The ARISE Program Lead serves as a member of the Programs Team to help guide strategic decisions in NTDs under the leadership of the DCD/Head of Programs and the MOH NTD Team Lead.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing guidance, oversight, and management support to MOH and ARISE implementing partners.
  • Responsible for leading the design and implementation of the ARISE Program.
  • Collect, aggregate, analyses, and present data about the ARISE program for learning and reporting to the donor that underscores the link between intervention investments and heath outcome gains.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, work plans, and budgets for the successful execution of the ARISE program activities in alignment with the goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of quality assurance and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and health system strengthening.
  • Accountable for the development, consolidation, and submission of timely high quality and analytical progress reports.
  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders to identify issues that require advocacy interventions and enhance networking.
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and direction to implementing partners for the timely development of annual work plans, project documents and reports (quarterly, annual) ensuring high quality and in conformity to organizational and donor requirements.
  • Support the ARISE leadership in information management and communications.
  • Constructively contribute and collaborate with all colleagues, while strengthening intra and inter organizational collaboration for efficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • At least 10 years of applied experience in NTDs preferably in Trachoma Program.
  • Master’s degree in public health, international development, public policy, or related field of study
  • Previous experience working in international development organizations.
  • Knowledge of reporting procedures, best practices, guidelines, and health policies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and lead effective data collection for NTDs, and coordinate with implementing partners and coordination bodies.
  • Experience in Capacity building and systems development.
  • Demonstrated experience in NTD Program Management with a consortium arrangement. 
  • Experienced in Technical Assistance role for government agency.
