To provide leadership and expertise in the development and improvement of curriculum, effective lesson delivery methods, develop teachers on best practices that is aligned with the mission and vision of Bingham Academy to achieve the objectives stated in the strategic plan for excellent education. This role entails collaboration with Principals and multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives and maximize the educational benefit for each child.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the curriculum program of Bingham Academy including Cambridge curriculum and supplemental Bingham Academy subjects
- Evaluate and develop the educational/ instructional program to ensure conformance to expected high standard and use of technology
- Facilitate training and implementation of Danielson Framework for teaching with the administrative team and licensed staff
- Produce and institute a roadmap for national hire teachers upskilling and development
- Advocate for substantive change and help the faculty to become more effective educators
- Assist the Director in the schools’ long-range planning for instruction
- Prepare various high-quality presentation and documents (correspondence, reports, analysis etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and information as required
- Develop a wide variety of topic documents and presentation materials for discussion on a regular basis at faculty staff meetings
- Manage data collection system for teacher observation and evaluation utilizing tools such as StepLab
- Provide staff with regular feedback regarding lesson observation towards personalized goals and development targets
- Provide for the development of clear and comprehensive assessment of student achievement and interpretation of results to staff, board and community in collaboration with Cambridge Coordinator
- Review and refine policies and procedures for effective instruction in the classroom
- Develop teacher support program for new or inexperienced educators
- Represent the school within the community forums for the purpose of maintaining ongoing community support for the school’s mission and educational goals
- Assist individual Principals in addressing their needs to:
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and parent information
- Coordinate a staff development program that includes an annual needs assessment and organizing In-service activities (workshops, Speakers, Classes etc.)
- Serve as a consultant to Principals/staff regarding classroom instruction
- Keep up-to-date of changes and developments in the profession through attending various professional forums and publications
- Participate in administrative, board or other meetings as required and appropriate.
