Position Summary:


The Electrical Technician evaluates, assembles, and maintains electrical systems in equipment, addressing design issues and executing preventive maintenance tasks. Other responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, and reading circuit blueprints.


Reports to: Production and Tech Manager


Key Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.

  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.

  • Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.

  • Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.

  • Advise management on the continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.

  • Order electrical supplies and equipment as needed.

  • Repair and replace wiring and equipment using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wire strippers, and conduit breakers.

  • Direct and train fellow workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wiring and systems.

  • Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.

  • Communicate estimated repair timelines to affected parties.

  • Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure as required.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.

  • Maintain a detailed log of all services and report progress to management.

  • Properly utilize and store all equipment.




Qualification Requirements:



  • Preference given to candidates from and residing in Chacha, Kotu, or Debre Birhan city.

  • Level IV or Diploma in Electrical streams from a TVET college, or a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical stream

  • 3 years or more experience in the industrial field in an electrical position.
