Role purpose:

The Executive Head of Technology Enterprise Services is a senior Technology leadership role reporting to the CTIO. The role oversees all the enterprise connectivity and application platforms, delivers technology projects to meet business objectives leveraging vendor teams or direct staff. The role is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of a technology roadmap that is aligned with business needs, reflects best practices and increases option value for the organization. The role ensures that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards. The role is expected to provide technology thought leadership addressing complex project issues by facilitating alignment across disparate teams. The role will be in charge of customer fulfilment and assurance

 

The role ensures enterprise architecture models and associated design components are maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for extensibility, scalability, security and quality. The role will be a champion of the delivery of Technology Enterprise Services for the Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) and ensure its application and consistent adoption for all projects.

Key accountabilities:


·         Customer fulfilment and assurance according to committed SLAs

·         Lead and manage the portfolio of all Technology Enterprise Services within the organization. These include but are not limited to:

o   Fixed Access networks (FTTx, Microwave, 4/5G, Satellite) including automation (SD-WAN)

o   International connectivity solutions

o   Unified communication and collaborations solutions

o   Cloud solutions (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS

o   Security as a Service

o   Internet of Things (IoT)

o   Professional services and consultancy

·         Work with all divisions and business leaders to define technical requirements required to build the Enterprise Business Units (EBU) products for servicing customer requirements.

·         Work with CTIO and other EHODs to develop/enhance the TES roadmap for EBU product delivery.  

·         Work as the technical partner and liaison with the Project Management and Sales organization on all technical deliverables.

·         Own and drive technical solution strategy and design.

·         Manage and direct the solutioning team responsible for technical delivery.

·         Interface with clients directly, or indirectly, in the technical sales process.

·         Coordinate the flow and priority of technical deliverables within the Technology Group.

·         Oversee key performance indicators and Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics to meet management targets.

·         Report performance to senior leadership on a frequent basis.

·         Understand and proactively manage the funding/budget for area of responsibility

·         Technical Lead for strategic partnerships that the delivers business outcomes

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

·         Proven ability to strategically plan both new technologies and create a vision and roadmap for solution delivery.

·         Proven ability to translate business requirements into solutions that map to technology capabilities.

·         Excellent leadership skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a team, and ability to inspire team members.

·         Must have broad Mobile, Transmission, and IP Network knowledge with analytical skills and business acumen.

·         Strong management skills with direct experience managing a diverse group of technology staff.

·         Strong written and verbal skills with proven project management experience.

·         Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

·         Must be able to lead a team of Technical Architects/Leads and guide them to efficiently deploy technology required for EBU products and services.

·         Proven track record leading Enterprise Customer Service function including basic foundational knowledge of core Technology and IT systems.

·         Strong learning aptitude, abilities to learn new domain, technology solutions, and managed services concepts and deliver on it.

·         Experience in strategic planning, project planning, budgeting and management, and process management.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Systems Analysis, or other related field is preferred.

·         At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing technology enterprise connectivity, services and applications.

·         Work experience that provides extensive knowledge of fundamental theories, principles, and concepts related to Enterprise Technologies.

·         Extensive exposure to multiple, diverse technology environments.

·         Extensive experience in technical capability modelling and technical and solution delivery.

·         Professional experience and knowledge of Telecommunications industries strongly preferred.

Budget owned: $10,000,000.00

Non-Technical Skills:

·         Ability to apply good judgement in the role of EHOD and gatekeeper ensuring technology delivery is balanced with business needs and expediency

·         Ability to initiate and direct collaborative efforts of multiple teams including portfolio company, shared services, advisory team, third party vendors and other constituent groups as appropriate.

·         Strong communication skills
