At Bingham Academy, our social studies and geography classes are taught by qualified teachers and are designed to build knowledge and skills that will enable students to understand and analyze all areas of geography as well as prepare for further studies at university and beyond. We are currently looking for a Geography Teacher or History Teacher with an ability to teach Social Studies at Middle School level as well as High School geography.




Qualifications and Requirements:



  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in related subject

  • Teaching License, Qualification or Credential

  • Able to teach more than 1 subject in the social studies department

  • Experience with teaching the skills aspect of these courses (e.g. dissect and each historiography)

  • Experience with teaching Cambridge Curriculum, IGCSE and/or A-Level (desired, but negotiable)

  • 2+ years of teaching experience (desired, but negotiable)

  • Demonstrate understanding of recent educational trends and best practices, including relevant curriculum and learning and assessment theory

  • Experience designing personalized and differentiated learning experiences for students

  • Effective classroom management techniques

  • Commitment to positive communication with all stakeholders

  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to contribute to a positive school environment for students, staff and the overall community

  • Passion for excellent education

  • Willingness to learn




Responsibilities:



  • Teach courses assigned by the secondary principal

  • Carry out all assigned duties with professionalism

  • Teach and serve in a broad range of responsibilities as requested by administration

  • Communicate timely and professionally with parents as needed, discussing student performance and writing annual reports

  • Maintain personal teaching certifications

  • Participate in ongoing professional development
