Specialist: Business Intelligence (Power BI)

Role purpose:


Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions, support data analytics platforms, and conduct unit testing and troubleshooting. As an ideal candidate.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership:


·         Develop, maintain and support ETL processes using tools such as Microsoft SSIS


·         Create reports and extracts from Oracle Database and other disparate data sources.


·         Create outstanding Dashboards and Reports using Power BI and other BI tools.


·         Develop high availability and highly scalable reports.


·         Ensure reports are released properly, and each release is documented


·         Translate business requirements and problems into innovative technical solutions


·         Participate in user research and usability testing to help improve the user experience


·         Create and maintain unit and functional tests


Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:


·         Proven experience as a BI Developer


·         Industry experience is preferred.


·         Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modelling) and data mining


·         In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.


·         Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)


·         Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)


·         Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative


·         Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude


·         BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
