Job Summary:
The library fulfills a key role in terms of information provision and access across curriculum areas. It is a prime source of motivation for information literacy, a significant place for recreational reading and instrumental in encouraging students to become lifelong learners!
Professional Knowledge
▪ Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of relevant curriculum, and of learning and assessment theory
▪ Assist grade teachers as needed with scope and sequence to build sequential learning appropriate to age and grade
▪ Undertake evaluation, assessment and monitoring of students in accordance with school guidelines
▪ Participate in in-house and/or external professional development in order to update and refine knowledge and skills including teaching; assessments; Christian Philosophy of Education and Biblical Worldview

▪ Use a full range of teaching and assessment techniques that target identified needs/abilities
▪ Effectively manage the the learning environment

▪ Supervise staff and/or volunteers working in the library
▪ Participate in whole staff and faculty meetings as scheduled

▪ Participate in peer and/or faculty mentoring and support programs
▪ Collaborate in the development of team and school plans and programs ▪ Arrange for staff training/tutorials with teachers as required to aim for maximum use of library
▪ Work with teachers to integrate library use across curriculum subjects and encourage additional use of library
▪ Stay attuned to resource needs to support curriculum/topics/staff development

▪ Oversight of all ordering in line with annual budget allocation - managed within each school year
▪ Maintenance/development of the overall physical space the library occupies ▪ Review of staffing needs for library
▪ Development of library manual
▪ Maintain the ACSI Library accreditation standard
▪ Provide specific professional growth opportunities for library/media technology staff ▪ Informational communications/updates via Bingham Bulletin
▪ Parents encouraged to use the library

▪ Participate in student chapel regularly
▪ Participate in school activities outside of class time according to interest and need ▪ Actively supervise students during breaks and before/after school as scheduled ▪ Comply with reasonable directions given by a supervisor/principal/leadership

Terms of Service:
▪ Working hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
▪ When sick or in an emergency you will inform your supervisor.
▪ Except for emergencies, do not use your personal phone to check social media etc. while
on duty
▪ The rules and regulations in the employee /staff handbook are part of the terms of service
▪ Maintain proper certification (ie. ACSI certifications, teaching licences, etc.), as relevant, in
order to keep your work permit
▪ Consult HR and your supervisor before planning Special Leave or Extended Leave
